Join FOBG members and guests for a fun afternoon and informative presentation with Pat Kenny on growing and using medicinal culinary herbs.

Pat Kenny is a well-known speaker on the topic of herbs. She has been a Master Gardener for over 25 years, a member of the Herb Society of America for 40+ years, and a medical and biological illustrator at NIH for 30 years. Pat was also the caretaker of the National Library of Medicine Herb Garden at NIH. Pat Kenny simultaneously followed her heart/mind in the path of nature & practiced balancing herself with Tai Chi and herbal studies. She gave classes and workshops on herbal subjects through the Montgomery County Recreation Department and taught the general herb course, based on the U.S. National Arboretum’s National Herb Garden, for USDA Graduate School evening Programs for 15 years. Then in the year 2000 for another 15 years, she was entrusted to introduce the County Master Gardener incoming classes to “The World of Herbs” program. Now a Life member of both the Herb Society of America, (local Potomac Unit) and of United Plant Savers, and still a member of the Prince George's Herb Society.

 Joining Pat will be FOBG President Anne Roland, and Brookside Gardens Director Stephanie Oberle.

There will be light refreshments, an informative booklet on herbs kindly shared by Montgomery History, a variety of potted herb giveaways and more.
