About Jason Gedeik

It all started when...

Jason Gedeik joined Brookside Gardens in the fall of 2016 as the Adult Education Manager responsible for creating and managing program offerings including lectures, workshops, tours and symposiums.

Prior to Brookside Gardens, Jason was the Head of Greenhouse & Design Operations for Hillwood Museum & Gardens in Washington, D.C. In this role he was responsible for developing the landscape designs for the outdoor seasonal displays and creating weekly fresh floral arrangements enjoyed by the public.  Jason also managed the greenhouses including the care and cultivation of Hillwood’s orchid collection of over 2,000 specimens.  While at Hillwood he taught numerous public workshops on the care and cultivation of orchids and worked with orchid curators like Tom Mirenda of the Smithsonian to offer specialized field expeditions.

Prior to joining Hillwood, Jason worked at the Smithsonian’s Enid Haupt garden and was also the National Garden Fellow at the United States Botanic Garden, where he developed public education programs. Jason has a bachelor’s degree in Plant Sciences with a focus in Horticulture and Crop Production from the University of Maryland.
