WHO WE ARE
Friends of Brookside Gardens (FOBG) was founded in 1996 by a handful of enthusiastic gardening experts passionate about Brookside Gardens. FOBG has now grown to be an all-volunteer, independent, non-profit organization with nearly 1,000 members.
WHAT WE DO
FOBG exists for one purpose: to support Brookside Gardens. We raise money to supplement the public funding for this “jewel in the crown” of our local parks system. To date, we’ve contributed over $1 million for plantings, educational programs, and sponsorship of Master Plan components. We also act as an advocacy voice so Brookside Gardens retains high visibility in the community.
HOW WE DO IT
Our membership program is the core of our continuing support. And we encourage donations, memorial gifts, and gift memberships. Each year, we also hold fund-raising events such as a silent auction, plant sale, holiday greens sale, and orchid show and sale.
Why? That’s easy. Love! Ask any one of the tens of thousands of annual visitors, and each will tell you they love Brookside Gardens. The flowers and trees. The paths and ponds. The serenity and peace. But… for Brookside Gardens to maintain its current beauty and grow for the future, FOBG’s support is critical. And that support comes from you!
FOBG is a 501 (C)(3) not-for-profit group organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes.
